Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool provides direct patient care using the nursing process in line with standards of practice.

  • Performs House Supervisor duties as needed, coordinating nursing care across the hospital to ensure quality services.
  • Reports to the Executive Director of Nursing Operations.
  • Requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), current RN license in TX, and certifications such as BCLS, ACLS, and PALS as per unit needs.
  • Must possess critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in stressful environments.
  • Performs interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments; documents care and monitors patient conditions.
  • Assists with activities of daily living and collaborates across disciplines for comprehensive care.
  • Provides patient and family education, advocates for patient well-being, and supervises staffing and staff development.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, handles complex issues, and performs additional duties as assigned.
