Job Description

This RN – Med/Surg position involves coordinating comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.

  • Reports to the Department Director and requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid RN license in TX and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Key skills include effective communication, critical thinking, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Essential functions encompass assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, collaborating with medical staff, and educating patients/families.
  • Accurate documentation and patient advocacy are vital.
  • Nonessential duties include maintaining equipment, assisting with staff orientation, supervising activities, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
