Job Description

*Position Summary:*

The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric services in an outpatient behavioral health setting. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. The position may require travel between behavioral health clinics across the island.

Supervisory experience is *preferred but not required*; the ideal candidate will be a collaborative, flexible provider committed to improving behavioral health outcomes for diverse populations.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations for patients with a range of mental health diagnoses.
* Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with behavioral health team members.
* Provide ongoing monitoring of psychiatric symptoms, treatment efficacy, and side effects.
* Document all patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, primary care providers, and other clinicians to ensure comprehensive care.
* Participate in case reviews, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide consultation to other providers and clinical staff as needed.
* May provide clinical supervision and guidance to psychiatric nurse practitioners or other behavioral health staff (if applicable).
* May require travel between outpatient clinics across the island.

*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of M.D. or D.O.
* Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry.
* Current license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire.
* Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple clinic locations as needed.
* Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings preferred.

*Preferred Qualifications:*
* Two (2) or more years of post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient or community behavioral health setting.
* Supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting.
* Familiarity with electronic health records and telepsychiatry platforms.
* Experience working with culturally diverse populations.

*Working Conditions:*
* Work is performed in outpatient clinic settings with occasional travel between sites.
* May require flexible scheduling to meet patient care needs.
* Exposure to patients with a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
