Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the Short Stay Surgical department provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care.

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.

  • Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.

  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.

  • Administers medications as ordered and collaborates on care plans.

  • Directs ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.

  • Requires nursing diploma or degree, current RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.

  • Must possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of quality improvement principles.

  • This role involves handling sensitive information securely and in compliance with privacy regulations.
