*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Provide medical care for patients with a variety of medical problems, including acute illness and injury
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, radiologic studies, and electrocardiograms
* Stabilize patients and make appropriate referrals for specialty care
* Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
* Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans
* Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all patient care activities
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical developments and best practices in emergency medicine
