Job Description
The Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Nurse is an expert in wound, ostomy, and continence care, supporting patient care and transitions across the healthcare setting.
Provides direct clinical support and acts as an educator, consultant, and clinical expert.
Performs assessments, diagnoses, and sets individualized outcomes for patients.
Collaborates with the healthcare team to improve care quality and efficiency.
Evaluates policies, procedures, and resource needs to optimize patient outcomes.
Assists patients in accessing appropriate services and considers cost, risks, and benefits in care decisions.
Requires graduation from an accredited WOC Nursing Program, a BSN, current RN license, and 3-5 years of nursing experience. Certification and ongoing education are expected.
Must communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and demonstrate responsibility and accountability. The role involves handling sensitive information per HIPAA and privacy standards.
