Job Description
The Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Nurse is an expert in caring for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs, supporting clinical care, education, and consultation.
Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, and developing individualized care plans to improve patient outcomes.
Collaborates with the healthcare team to enhance quality and efficiency, reviews policies, and assists with resource allocation and cost management.
Assists patients in accessing appropriate services and evaluates care resources.
Requires graduation from an accredited WOC Nursing Program, current NYS RN license, 3-5 years nursing experience, and plan to be tri-certified within 1 year.
Bachelorâs degree in nursing required; Masterâs preferred or in progress.
Must communicate effectively, foster collaboration, and demonstrate accountability.
Role involves handling sensitive information following privacy standards.
