Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the OB Department provides direct and indirect patient care, applying the nursing process for planning and implementing care, including education and care continuity.

  • Works collaboratively with healthcare team members to ensure quality outcomes.

  • Cares for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and GYN surgery patients, overseeing LPN practices as directed.

  • Provides individualized nursing care, collaborates with physicians, and maintains accurate documentation.

  • Administers medications, operates medical equipment, and educates patients and families on treatments and self-care.

  • Must communicate effectively in English, work under pressure, and adapt to changing situations.

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred. Valid TN RN license or equivalent needed.

  • Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, and S.T.A.B.L.E., obtained within specified timeframes.
