Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the OB Department provides direct and indirect patient care, applying the nursing process to plan and deliver care, including patient and family education and care coordination.
Works collaboratively with healthcare team members to ensure quality outcomes.
Manages care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and GYN surgery patients, overseeing LPN practices as directed.
Essential functions include assessing patients, collaborating with physicians, administering medications, documenting care, operating medical equipment, and educating patients and families.
Must communicate effectively in English, work under pressure, adapt to changing situations, and apply nursing knowledge flexibly.
Completes assigned education and adheres to safety and organizational values.
Qualifications include an Associates Degree in Nursing (Bachelors preferred), current TN RN license or equivalent, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and S.T.A.B.L.E. within specified timeframes.
