Job Description
The RN Intensive Care Unit provides specialized patient care, assuming responsibility for a group of patients during assigned shifts.
Reports to the ICU Director and may serve as charge nurse, coordinating unit activities based on patient acuity and needs.
Performs nursing interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, treatments, and documentation.
Monitors, assesses, and communicates patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
Assists with activities of daily living and provides patient/family education tailored to individual needs.
Collaborates across disciplines, advocates for patient well-being, and participates in quality improvement.
Supports a holistic, quality-focused environment, maintaining confidentiality and promoting professional growth.
Qualifications include an active RN license in Tennessee, critical thinking skills, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (obtained within specified timeframes).
