Job Description
The RN in the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for providing direct patient care, including medication administration, clinical treatments, and documentation.
Acts as a caregiver, patient advocate, and educator, addressing physical and emotional needs.
Collaborates with the healthcare team for care planning, transfers, and discharge.
Monitors patient condition, recognizes changes, and responds appropriately.
Supports quality improvement initiatives and promotes a holistic, patient-centered environment.
Assists with activities of daily living and provides family education tailored to individual needs.
If assigned as charge nurse, coordinates unit activities based on patient acuity and staffing.
Maintains professional growth through ongoing education.
Qualifications include a current Tennessee RN license, critical thinking skills, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
