EMPLOYMENT TYPE: .5 FTE (40 hours a pay period)

WORK SCHEDULE: Days

DEPARTMENT: Clinic Nursing Services

JOB SUMMARY:

RN will utilize the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation – to support the cardiology patient population in teaching, care planning, follow-up, inbasket management, cardiac triage, and other duties as assigned by cardiology providers. The RN will see a panel of patients for ongoing foot care. RN will have one specialty assigned per day and be trained in such areas. Areas are not limited to cardiology and foot care, depending on clinic needs.

JOB DUTIES:

Works cooperatively with providers to assess the needs of each patient on an individual basis and provide the services necessary to meet these needs.
Support the cardiology patient population up to two days per week in teaching, care planning, follow-up, in basket management, cardiac triage, and other duties as assigned by cardiology providers.
Manages refills for cardiology practice per refill protocol.
Within scope of practice, assists cardiology providers in managing consults.
Will see a panel of patients for ongoing foot care up to two days per week.
Provides education reflected on after visit summary to ensure plan of care.
Performs other patient care needs as directed by the plan of
Refills medication prescriptions per established protocols.
Other duties may include, but are not limited to; wound care, foot care, injections, suture removal, catheter insertion, bladder installations, phone triage when appropriate, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintains current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Has current Foot & Nail Care Education (or is willing to obtain within five months of employment.)
Demonstrates clinical competence in providing direct patient care and patient and family education as well as assisting the physician in the delivery of patient care.
Has current BLS certification (or is willing to obtain within two months of employment.)
Clinic experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
