Job Summary:

The Level II Competent Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborates with the healthcare team, and incorporates evidence-based practices. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing care and oversee team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Involve patients and families in care planning and discharge processes.
  • Communicate care plans with the healthcare team.
  • Support standards of excellence and participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Contribute to staff orientation and policy development.
  • Participate in daily operations ensuring a safe environment.
  • Provide input on unit needs and serve on committees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN experience.
  • Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal state required.
  • BSN preferred; BLS CPR required at hire; ONS/ONCC within 1 year; NIHSS within 90 days.
  • For temporary hires, additional certifications may be required within specified timeframes.
