Job Summary:

The Level II Competent Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborating with the healthcare team to improve quality by applying evidence-based practices. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Practice Standards:

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate nursing care and oversee staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Engage patients and families in care and discharge planning.
  • Communicate effectively with the health team regarding care plans.
  • Support standards of excellence and participate in quality improvement.
  • Contribute to staff orientation and departmental activities.
  • Serve as a resource on policies and procedures.
  • Participate in hospital committees and unit operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN experience.
  • Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal state.
  • BSN preferred.
  • AHA BLS CPR required at hire; ONS/ONCC within 1 year; NIHSS within 90 days.

    • External Temporary RN Program:

  • Required certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS) at hire or within specified timelines.
