Job Summary:

The Level II Competent Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborating with the healthcare team to improve quality by applying evidence-based practice. They are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Practice Standards:

Adheres to standards in exemplary professional practice, structural empowerment, transformational leadership, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing care and oversee team members to achieve patient outcomes.
  • Engage patients and families in care and discharge planning.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Support standards of excellence and participate in quality and performance improvement.
  • Contribute to staff orientation and policy development.
  • Participate in daily operational activities for safety and quality.
  • Provide input on unit needs and serve on committees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN experience.
  • Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal state.
  • BSN preferred; Associate’s Degree nurses must obtain BSN within five years.
  • AHA BLS CPR required at hire.
  • ONS/ONCC certification required within one year.
