Job Summary:

The Level II Competent Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborating with the healthcare team to improve quality by applying evidence-based practices. Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, they oversee licensed and unlicensed staff, coordinate care with patients and families, and participate in quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing care and team activities to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Facilitate communication among care team members and with patients/families
  • Assist in setting care standards and participate in quality initiatives
  • Support staff orientation and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Contribute to operational activities ensuring a safe environment
  • Provide input on unit needs and participate in committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including NICU
    • Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal state
    • BSN preferred
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months
