Job Summary:

The Level II Competent Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborating with the healthcare team to improve quality by applying research and evidence-based practices. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring accountability and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate nursing care and oversee team members using the nursing process and teamwork.
• Engage patients and families in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate plans and pertinent info with the healthcare team.
• Support standards of excellence and participate in quality and performance improvement.
• Contribute to staff orientation and act as a policy resource.
• Participate in daily operational and committee activities, providing input for unit needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years in NICU.
• Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal state.
• BSN preferred.
• AHA BLS CPR required at hire; NRP required within 6 months.
