Job Description
The Recreational Therapist will evaluate, plan, and implement Therapeutic Recreation programs to help patients improve or maintain their functional abilities, prevent disability, and enhance leisure skills.
Responsibilities include developing individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans based on patient needs and abilities, and working within an interdisciplinary team to deliver effective recreational therapy.
Assessment of patients’ pre-morbid leisure activities and creating therapy objectives aimed at maximizing their functional independence are key tasks.
Developing and implementing diversionary activities and supporting social integration during rehabilitation are also part of the role.
The position involves ongoing work, 40 hours per week, with an 8-hour shift, and is classified as staff employment.
