PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to join the Shipping and Receiving Team. As the Receiving Clerk at PennEngineering in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
In this role, you will ensure the accurate and efficient receipt of materials, maintain inventory records, and support operational logistics within our facility. This position plays a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring timely material availability to support production needs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments to verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of received materials before storage or distribution.
- Accurately update inventory records and maintain documentation for auditing purposes.
- Organize, store, and distribute materials efficiently to support production and operational needs.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to coordinate the timely movement of materials.
- Assist in managing returns, supplier claims, and non-conforming materials as needed.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse tools (certification preferred).
- Ensure a safe, clean, organized receiving area complies with company and industry standards.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
Qualifications & Skills:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience receiving warehouse, logistics, or inventory management in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in a warehouse setting with frequent standing, bending, and lifting.
- Forklift operation experience or certification preferred but not required (training available).
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, with possible overtime based on business needs.
- Work is performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, requiring PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery.
