Job Description

This Inpatient Phlebotomist role involves performing blood draws across all ages, ensuring patient safety, specimen integrity, and effective communication with staff and patients.

  • Adheres to safety protocols, laboratory policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies patients accurately, labels specimens properly, and documents results using electronic systems.
  • Collects various specimens including newborn screenings and urine drug screens, and assists with laboratory tasks as needed.
  • Maintains high standards for specimen quality, turnaround times, and minimizes errors and contamination.
  • Participates in team efforts, communicates effectively, and contributes to process improvements.
  • Works independently with strong organizational skills, handles multiple responsibilities, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle exposure to biohazards and chemicals.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, takes initiative, and respects diversity in a collaborative environment.
  • Ensures punctuality, adheres to attendance policies, and uses electronic devices appropriately during work hours.
