SUMMARY

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is non-exempt and hourly, providing direct support to 4-6 individuals in residential settings or up to 10 in periodic programs. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, socialization, health maintenance, and daily living activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To succeed, the DSP must:

1. Attend training and staff meetings.
2. Work scheduled hours and communicate effectively.
3. Provide direct support per individual service plans.
4. Document progress and maintain confidentiality.
5. Assist with medication administration and health monitoring.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and completion of state-required training.
