Job Summary:
Conducts diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures and provides training and orientation to staff as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams, selecting appropriate transducer settings and utilizing devices for hard copy records.
- Utilizes PACS and Radiology Information System, recognizing equipment limitations and differentiating normal from pathological anatomy.
- Adapts techniques for enhanced visualization and collaborates with physicians on diagnostic reports.
- Calibrates ultrasound equipment and trains other sonographers as directed.
- Correlates patient history with procedures and consults with radiologists as needed.
- Stays updated on advancements in diagnostic medical sonography.
- Fosters positive inter-departmental relationships.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of post-graduate experience in specialty area.
- Graduate from an approved ultrasound training program or equivalent experience.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong skills in customer service, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree.
Location: Hilo Medical Offices, Hawaii
Hours: 40/week, variable shifts
Travel: 10%
