Registered Nurse (RN) – Employee Health
PRN
Position Summary:
- Promotes employee health programs for staff, physicians, volunteers, and students, supporting the workers compensation program and OSHA log for Sovah Health – Martinsville.
- Conducts pre-employment and annual health screenings for all employees.
- Evaluates employees who are ill or injured on the job and refers them for further treatment as needed.
- Monitors and treats employees exposed to communicable diseases per protocols.
- Administers medications according to established orders.
- Maintains accurate employee health records.
- Stays updated on nursing practices and attends relevant educational seminars.
- Participates in the Infection Control and Safety Committees.
- Compiles monthly and quarterly quality assurance reports.
- Acts as HR contact for student intern/shadowing programs.
- Maintains OSHA logs and reports employee injuries to the Insurance Carrier.
- Manages Workers Compensation claims and follows up with all parties involved.
- Coordinates temporary light-duty assignments for employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensed in Virginia or a compact state.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience; employee or occupational health experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work under protocols.
- Ability to maintain emotional control and demonstrate professionalism.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
