EchoStar is seeking a Linux/UNIX Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Germantown, MD or Denver, CO. Join our Corporate IT team to support Linux servers in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support development, test, and production server environments.
  • Manage project specifications and schedules.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and provide customer service.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Address security and operational issues.
  • Maintain workflow using a ticketing system.
  • Patch and upgrade server OS.
  • Generate monthly reports for Internal Audit.
  • Manage user accounts.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with Linux OS, particularly Red Hat.
  • Experience with VMware environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Cloud certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in Ansible and scripting languages.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols.
  • Experience with Commvault backup solutions.
  • Critical thinking and multitasking abilities.

Eligible for discretionary bonus based on company performance.
