Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and following Practitioner medical orders, provides direct and indirect nursing care in an outpatient setting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares and reviews medical records, identifies patient needs, and documents observations.
- Implements nursing procedures, administers treatments and medications, and performs point-of-care testing.
- Documents care interventions and collaborates with RN/Practitioner to adjust care plans as necessary.
- Efficiently handles emergency situations and assigns tasks to unlicensed personnel.
- Manages patient vaccine data and ensures compliance with immunization guidelines.
- Trains staff on vaccine storage and maintains inventory control.
- Participates in orientation and maintains supplies and patient scheduling.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- N/A
- Education: LPN licensure from a Hawaii State Board of Nursing approved program.
- License: Licensed Practical Nurse (Hawaii) required at hire.
- Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, customer service, and communication.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous nursing and clinic experience.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Primary Location: Hawaii, Hilo, Hilo Medical Offices
Hours Per Week: 1
Shift: Day
Workdays: Mon-Fri
Job Schedule: Call-in/On-Call
