Job Description

**Position:** Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

**Schedule:** PRN Tier III (Minimum 2 shifts/week, 3 weekend shifts/month, 3 holidays/year – at least 1 major)

**Summary:**

  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process in line with established standards.
  • Implement care plans, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care and monitor patient conditions, communicating updates to the care team.
  • Identify changes in patient status and prioritize urgent issues.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities and collaborate across disciplines for coordinated care.
  • Evaluate and educate patients and families based on their needs.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or a Compact State.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Preferred experience in an acute care setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate nursing care.
