Job Description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Schedule: Days (7a-7p)

Position Summary:

  • Implement care plans, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Document all patient care provided.
  • Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Identify changes in patient status and prioritize urgent issues.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Collaborate across disciplines for coordinated patient care, including transfers and referrals.
  • Assess and educate patients and families based on their needs.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
  • Preferred experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of employment.
