Job Summary:
Responsible for a range of technical, patient care, and clerical tasks related to echocardiography.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conducts echocardiogram studies, positioning patients for optimal results.
- Operates equipment using M-mode, 2D, and Doppler techniques.
- Identifies cardiac pathology and records significant findings.
- Reviews echocardiography data, alerting cardiologists to critical issues.
- Performs various echocardiography studies based on expertise.
- Maintains CPR certification and assists in emergency situations.
- Ensures ultrasound equipment is clean and functional.
- Manages supply inventory and schedules patient exams.
- Trains new diagnostic cardiac sonographers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in echocardiography.
- Completion of an accredited echocardiography program.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
