REF:#21207283d11dac9a Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, a part of Fairview Health Services, is currently seeking an enthusiastic LPN/MA to join our team!

Grand Itasca’s LPN’s/MA’s work closely with providers to deliver quality patient care and service by maintaining patient flow, escorting patients through the clinic, identifying patient needs, collecting/verifying information, administering medications, updating electronic medical records, implementing methods as directed to improve care and the patient experience, maintaining exam/treatment rooms, ordering related supplies and display original thinking & creativity while working effectively as an important team member.

POSITION: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified or Registered Medical Assistant – Urology

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: .9-1.0 (72-80 hours a pay period)

JOB SUMMARY:

Uses the nursing process – planning, implementation, and evaluation – under the supervision of the RN or licensed provider to provide continuing healthcare to individuals, families, and community. The LPN provides basic nursing care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, and participating in decision making. When this job description applies to the assignment of a float position, the responsibilities are equivalent; however, the health care team and unit you are assigned to will direct specific job duties to meet the patient care needs.

JOB DUTIES:

Works cooperatively with the provider to determine the needs of each patient on an individual basis and provide the services necessary to meet these needs.
Must be able to perform catheterization, void trials, bladder scans, and other duties associated with a Urology practice.
Schedules surgeries for patients.
Assures the necessary patient information is available for the provider prior to them seeing the patient.
Accurately takes messages from patients, other providers, and other third parties to be relayed to the providers.
Makes the necessary arrangements for the day when assigned as the early nurse.
Accurately records patient information.
Understands and is able to employ all BLS and First Aid techniques as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintains a current state licensure.
Experience in Urology preferred.
Experience in an ambulatory health care setting is preferred or experience in a hospital setting is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and maintain positive working relationships.
Ability to develop leadership skills, which affects the action of others through appearance, conduct, and practice.
Demonstrates ability to handle personally sensitive material in a confidential manner.
BLS certification to be completed within two months of employment.
Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
