Job Description

Summary:

Surgical assistants support surgeons during operations by aiding in exposure, hemostasis, and closure, while also performing preoperative and postoperative tasks. They work under the surgeon’s supervision, adhering to hospital policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons throughout all surgical phases.
• Facilitate patient positioning and preparation.
• Perform specific surgical tasks as per surgeon’s preferences.
• Assess skin integrity and assist in patient transfer.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the surgeon.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical First Assist Program.
• 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant certifications required.

Work Schedule: 4 Days – 10 Hours, Full Time.
