Job Description

Job Title: Mental Health Therapist

Location: Ingham County Jail, Mason, Michigan

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group therapy to incarcerated individuals under supervision.
• Assess and direct treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
• Conduct crisis management and short-term interventions.
• Document cases and ensure compliance with court orders.
• Evaluate inmates for care level and potential diversion to community services.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• State of Michigan credential required within 60 days of hire.
• One year of experience with substance use disorders or relevant internship.
• Must become a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) within 3 years.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Salary: $57,125 – $64,842 annually, with potential increases.
