Job Summary:
Responsible for various technical duties in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, including skin preparation, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing patient comfort. Duties include transporting patients, positioning them for surgery, and preparing the Operating Room with necessary instruments and supplies.
Responsibilities:
Assist in direct patient care under a professional nurse’s direction.
Maintain sterile fields and pass instruments to the physician.
Ensure preference cards are updated and complete.
Implement aseptic practices and adhere to safety protocols.
Demonstrate expertise in surgical supplies and equipment.
Adapt care methods to meet diverse patient needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Surgical Technology or accredited LVN/LPN program.
2+ years of experience preferred.
BLS certification required; Surgical Technologist certification or LVN/LPN license within 180 days of graduation.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
