> REF:#8e02dd85e5d29c03Job Summary: The position involves providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients, including evaluations, care program planning, treatments, and home programs under general supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct patient evaluations and administer treatments for speech and swallowing disorders.
- Design and revise care plans and goals.
- Provide reports to physicians and complete documentation per standards.
- Engage in in-service education and stay updated on trends in the field.
- Participate in patient care committees and staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Clinical Fellow status or Certificate of Clinical Competence, and eligibility for licensure in Michigan. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with diverse age groups and ventilator-dependent patients preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of communicative disorders and ability to implement therapy plans.
- Self-directed with effective organizational skills.
Working Conditions: Potential exposure to infectious diseases and radiation; may work in varied home environments.
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Must have visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively.
