RN – Infection Prevention Nurse

Job Description

A joint venture is developing a new 192-bed behavioral health hospital in West Bloomfield, MI, set to open in late 2024. The facility will enhance psychiatric access for the Greater Detroit Metro area and consolidate psychiatric beds from Macomb to Kingswood.

Purpose: Lead the infection prevention and control program, ensuring patient safety and managing infectious outbreaks.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement infection control policies.
• Audit adherence to infection prevention protocols.
• Compile and present infection reports.
• Train staff on infection control practices.
• Investigate exposure incidents and notify authorities of communicable diseases.

Qualifications:

• Degree in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, or epidemiology.
• Experience in infection control preferred.
• Current professional license and CPR certification required.
