RN -ED – Charge Nurse/Unit Coordinator

Job Description

Overview: The Emergency Department Charge Nurse/Unit Coordinator serves as a leader, mentor, and advocate for staff and patients, facilitating change and ensuring optimal nursing outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Illinois; BSN preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS or ENPC, TNCC, ATLS or TNS preferred within 6 months.
• Minimum 3 years of emergency department experience; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits and assist in process improvements.
• Coordinate orientation for new staff and facilitate unit goals.
• Serve as a mentor and maintain clinical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and assist in budget preparation.
• Promote teamwork and address staff concerns.
• Perform triage and patient rounds to enhance care delivery.
