Summary:
Administer radiation therapy treatments and simulations with minimal supervision, following the radiation oncologist’s prescriptions. Assess when to withhold treatment and assist in treatment planning, including tumor localization and dosimetry.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to departmental policies and maintain professionalism.
Manage patient schedules and explain procedures.
Prepare equipment and ensure a safe environment.
Report treatment variations and equipment issues.
Document accurately and perform weekly chart checks.
Complete additional assigned duties.
Requirements:
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy Technology program.
Basic computer skills and effective communication.
Preferred one year of experience; new graduates accepted.
ARRT certification required within the first year.
Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate and BLS certification.
