Summary:
The Occupational Therapist, under the Director of Physical Therapy, is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing care for patients requiring occupational therapy. This role includes oversight of COTAs and adherence to the Occupational Therapy Practice Act, serving a diverse patient population from pediatric to geriatric.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ needs.
Document care and progress accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with infection control policies.
Provide education and training to patients and families.
Coordinate interdisciplinary care and maintain patient rights.
Demonstrate knowledge of unit-specific policies and equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current Louisiana OT License and BLS certification.
Excellent communication skills; bilingual preferred.
Rehabilitative experience and relevant certifications preferred.
Work Type: Per Diem As Needed
