Respiratory Therapist LTC

Job Description

This position involves administering respiratory therapy to long-term care residents with cardiopulmonary issues as prescribed by physicians.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review prescriptions and patient information to assess treatment needs.
• Determine and modify treatment plans in line with physician orders.
• Set up and operate respiratory devices like ventilators and nebulizers.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust equipment for optimal results.
• Consult with physicians regarding adverse reactions.
• Inspect and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
• Educate staff and demonstrate procedures.
• Perform tracheostomy tube changes.

Requirements:

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Previous related work experience.

Physical Demands:

Ability to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
