Job Description

SCHEDULE: 3 (12 hour shifts)

JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Technologist performs phlebotomy and laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field, with preferred certification.
• Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and proficient in computer skills.
• Effective communication skills are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Builds positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Conducts clinical testing and quality control.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and workspace.
• Follows safety and infection control practices.
• Participates in educational and quality initiatives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate physical effort required, including lifting up to 25 pounds and responding to emergencies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Climate-controlled with exposure to various hazards; may involve stressful situations and irregular hours.
