Our Nursing Support department is our Hospital based Float Pool. Our float pool supplements staffing throughout the hospital based on need. Nurses who work in the Citizens Memorial Float Pool will be trained to float and support in a variety of areas! If you like to keep things switching up, this role is for you!
Medical Surgical- 28 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:5-6
Intensive Care-8 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:2-3
Telemetry- 8 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:4-5
Geriatric Psych- 12 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:6
Birth Place- 8 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:2-3
Emergency Dept-12 bed unit staffing ratio of 1:3-4
ASC- pre/post op recovery
A typical day will include: receiving your shift assignment, bedside shift report, initial assessments, BMV scanning and med pass, coordinating and providing care utilizing critical thinking framework, assisting with meals and daily hygiene, effectively educating patient/family from admission to discharge, maintaining patient/family confidentiality and privacy, demonstrating knowledge that reflects current nursing practice.
