This jobs serves as a role model and subject matter expert for all technical questions regarding ophthalmic procedures and techniques.
This job is responsible for all regulatory activities at assigned location and performs duties of the Ophthalmic Technician/Technologist as necessary.
Job Description
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) level
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
CPR
Must obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months of hire.
Experience REQUIRED:
5 years of experience
Experience PREFERRED:
10 years’ experience and experience in academic medical environment preferred
Education/training REQUIRED:
High School / GED
Education/training PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or related field
