Administer medications to facility residents under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
In addition, the CMA will monitor resident’s vital signs as indicted; observe residents for expected actions; observe reportable, suspected and adverse reactions to medications administered; and prepare verbal and written reports related to successful or unsuccessful medication administration; changes in resident condition and/or departures from unusual and routine organizational operations.
Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care. Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient’s personal characteristics.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Works under general supervision.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
No experience necessary.
Certification from an accredited medication aid program.
Two years experience as a C.N.A. or Nurse Aide preferred.
NM Medication Aide Certification.
Current BLS Certification or obtain per policy upon hire; maintain current BLS Certification.
