Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Pediatric ICU (Night shift) assesses, plans, directs, and manages patient care throughout the episode of care, focusing on discharge progress and transitions.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, and documents care as per policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests; assesses patient needs and responses.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses; administers medications.
Collaborates with the nursing team to develop a Plan of Care and guides ancillary staff.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification.
Previous nursing assistance experience preferred.
Emphasizes quality improvement, continuing education, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
