Job Description
The clinical Nurse in Labor & Delivery contributes to a compassionate environment by providing patient care, active listening, and teamwork.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents appropriately.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
Provides primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
Collaborates on developing patient care plans and directs ancillary staff.
Cross-trains to work on both High Risk Antepartum and Labor & Delivery units, with routine assignments on either unit.
The role involves maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations, ensuring information access is limited to what is necessary for duties.
