Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Short Stay Surgical department provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment in care decisions.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the team to develop a Plan of Care and guides ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), a current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organizational, and quality improvement skills are required.
The role involves handling sensitive information, with strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
