Job Description

This night shift registered nurse position in the Colorectal Surgery & Urology unit involves caring for surgical abdominal, urologic, and general medical/surgical patients in a 22-bed med-surg unit. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, and manage patient care throughout their hospital stay, ensuring smooth transitions and progress toward discharge.
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document procedures according to policies and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  • Guide ancillary staff and uphold professional nursing standards.

    • Minimum qualifications include a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate nursing degree, current NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC. Continuing education to enhance skills is encouraged. The role involves handling sensitive information in compliance with privacy regulations.
