Job Description
This RN position in the Colorectal Surgery & Urology Unit involves caring for post-surgical patients in a 22-room unit.
Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion, central lines, wound vac changes, NG, catheterization.
Assess, plan, coordinate, and manage patient care, focusing on progress toward discharge and care transitions.
Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document care.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, evaluate patient needs, and apply sound nursing judgment.
Collaborate with the team to create and implement care plans, and guide ancillary staff.
Requirements include a nursing diploma, current NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC.
Continuing education to improve skills is encouraged.
The role involves handling sensitive information per HIPAA and privacy regulations.
