Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in Elective Orthopedics provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and tests, and documents care according to regulations.
Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment in care decisions.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the nursing team to develop a Plan of Care and guides ancillary staff to maintain professional standards.
Requires graduate of a nursing program, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Must have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of quality improvement principles.
