Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the General Surgery/Trauma unit provides compassionate patient care, ensuring safety and comfort for patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop and execute patient care plans.
  • Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
    Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree, NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
    Strong communication, organizational, and quality improvement skills are required.
