Job Description
The Emergency Department Nurse provides compassionate care, demonstrating kindness and active listening to patients, families, and colleagues.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments and tests, documenting as required.
Orders and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
Offers primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the team to develop patient care plans and guides ancillary staff.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is needed.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential.
The role involves sensitive information management, ensuring privacy and compliance with regulations.
